SERMON SERIES - Language for Faith

In early centuries of the Christian Church, one of the most important jobs for its leaders was to prepare people for initiation into its life. The weeks leading to Easter (a season called Lent) were a period of instruction for those seeking immersion into new life by faith, and the new family of Jesus. All of this culminated in public ceremony called baptism, an outward sign of an inward reality. The Apostles' Creed offers a summary of the gospel. It lays a foundation for mission. As we rehearse and recite the creed together during this Lenten season, may we be built up in faith to go out in faith.
