Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry
Children's Ministry is available every Sunday at 10:30 am for children infant through 7th grade.
In Children's Ministry, the children participate in an age-appropriate Biblical lesson, a time of worship through song, a lesson-strengthening craft and activity, a snack time (allergies are considered) and a time of socialization and play with other children.
Nursery: 3 months - 2 years old
Pre-K: 3 - 5 years old
Elementary: Kindergarten - 4th grade
Middle School: 5th - 7th grade
We have an easy check-in system each time you attend a Sunday gathering. Upon arrival to Excel High School, follow the signs to the auditorium and then down the hall towards the women's bathroom. At the end of the hall, you will find the Children's Ministry table where someone will help get your child(ren) checked in. If you are visiting, please let the Greeter at the front door know and they will be happy to walk you to the check in. When a child is checked in, each parent/guardian will receive two stickers—one with their child’s name and temporary ID number and one with a corresponding ID number to match during pick up.
After checking in, parents/guardians with Nursery children (under 3) will immediately drop their child off in the Nursery classroom, while Pre-K and Elementary children (over 3) will accompany their parents/guardians into the main gathering until the Passing of the Peace (about 15 minutes into the gathering).
All classrooms are located down the hall just past the check in table.
We believe children are vibrant, valuable members of the community of faith. They show us constantly what it is to have a simple, humble trust in God and bring real joy to the world around them. We believe the words of Jesus, who said:
"Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." -Luke 18:16-17
We also believe that spiritual formation begins at a young age and we desire to partner with families and nurture that formation by sharing and allowing children to experience Jesus Christ’s never-ending love.

Our teachers all have a passion for participating in each child’s spiritual formation and a desire to grow in community with the children they teach and their families. Additionally, all teachers undergo a detailed application process including a background check, personal interview, minimum attendance requirement, ongoing training and discipleship, and monitored policies and procedures.
The Children's Ministry is located in the Preschool at the Villa Victoria. Parents and guardians can access the Preschool by entering the gate to the right of the main building and by following proper signage. To ensure safety, administrative personnel is always monitoring the Preschool entrance and roaming the facility. Our check-in and check-out process also helps promote safety by providing children and parents with their own unique code to be presented to teachers upon pick-up.
Child Wellness Policy
For the well being of the children, parents, and volunteers in the Children's Ministry, we ask that your child remain home if they are sick. Some common signs include: Fever, Diarrhea, Persistent Runny Nose, Lethargy, Hacking / Wet-Sounding Cough. If your child has recently been sick, we ask that they attend only if they have had at least 3 doses of antibiotics and have been fever-free for at least 24 hours. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding!
